II. INTRODUCTION TO THE MODULE

Module 3 will help you to understand

  • the importance of employment contracts
  • the importance of employment rights and responsibilities in working life
  • how the law and the employment contract establish rights, duties and responsabilities for both the employee and the employer
  • who should an employee ask for advice and support about employment rights?

III. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO LEARN?

  • types of employment contracts
  • probationary period
  • employment quota for people with disability
  • employee´s rights
  • reasonable adjustments of the workplace

  • entities providing advice and support about employment rights

Competences that you will acquire with module 3:

  • to be familiar with how an employment contract works
  • to distinguish the main types of employment contracts
  • to recognise the conditions of the probationary period
  • to be aware of the employment quota for people with disability
  • to recognise the reasonable adjustments of the workplace
  • to be aware of the main employee´s rights
  • to identify the situations in which an employee can be absent from work with justification
  • to be familiar with the employee´s duties and responsibilities
  • to know how to complaint about discrimination on the grounds of disability
  • to identify the situations in which both the employee and employer can terminate an employment contract
  • to be aware of the entities providing advice and support on employment rights.
